Jazz graduate of the University of Évora. After 15 years in Brazil he returned to Portugal in 1991, performing with Gabriel Godói, Issabary and the Pedro Luís Martínez Salsa Orchestra, among many others. He founded Solaris in 2019.
Solaris was formed in 2019, bringing together four seasoned musicians with varied backgrounds, drawn to the possibilities of jazz-inspired improvisation. Since then the quartet has performed across dozens of municipalities, from north to south of mainland Portugal and in the Azores. In 2025 it released the album “Viagem”.

Jazz piano graduate of ESMAE (Porto) and a graduate of Berklee College of Music's Film & TV Orchestration programme. He works across jazz, classical music and original scoring for film and television.
Bassist, double bassist, composer and teacher. He has performed across Portugal and abroad — from Cape Verde to Cuba, Germany, Italy and Spain — on stages including the Lisbon and Porto Coliseums and the MEO Arena, playing with the likes of Tito Paris and Mercado Negro.
Trained at the Hot Clube de Portugal jazz school, studying with Bruno Pedroso, Afonso Pais and Nelson Cascais. As a sideman he has played in Portugal, Spain, Belgium and the Czech Republic, and recorded with musicians such as Perico Sambeat and Carlos Barretto.
